In the territory of Brzózka Forest Districtthere are 35 commercial seed stands: 31 pine stands on the total area of 178, 64 ha, 2 birch stands with the area of 4,42ha and 2 alder stands on the surface of 5,53 ha. Moreover, in the territory of the Forest District there is a pine preservative stand with the area of 4,13 ha area. Currently, in the district there are 76 associated crops on the surface of 204,95 ha. Within individual selection, Brzózka Forest District obtains seeds from five parent trees.

The midyear economic tasks in the field of silviculture in Brzózka District are as follows:

·         reproduction (the formation of the young generation of trees)- 230 hectares,

·         backfilling and scrub layers (reconstruction of stands)- 12 hectares

·         early cleanings (care treatments performed during cultivation)- 227 hectares

·         late cleanings (cultivation treatments performed in coppices- 368 hectares

·         thinnings (operations connected with cultivating forests) – 1,596 hectares.

Forest nursery in Wężyska consists of 6 lodgings with a total area of 7,32 ha.

NATURAL CONDITIONS OF THE NURSERY:

·         crypto soils, made from sands with a low clay content,

·         level ground,  sylvan habitat (fresh mixed forests),

·         the surrounding constitutes a mature pine stand with oak and beech in the second floor,

·         the climate is transitional between continental and oceanic, with a predominance of climate characteristics of the latter,

·         an annual and daily ranges of temperature are smaller here than in central Poland (annual average approximately +8 ⁰C), and the growing season is longer (220 days)

·         the warmest month is July, and the coldest is January,

·         late spring frosts occur by the end of April, and even up to May 20,

·         rainfall exceeds 600 mm per year (the highest in July, the lowest in February)

·         there is predominance of western and southwestern winds

Infrastructure of the nursery: a mesh fence, a social house, a shed, an icehouse, an artificial reservoir, two composter plants equipped with a fixed sprinkle, the fixed sprinkle with an automatic fertilizing system, an internal road made from concrete panels, a storage of plant protection products and fertilizers as well as biobet.
